My Practice of drawing and painting originates in a deep sense
of intuition, and in nature. By avoiding academic frameworks, rhetoric,
and an overrun of creativity, my imagination can flourish, and play in
the wilderness of the universe. Hope, humor, whimsy, and various
traditions of folklore and spirituality guide my way. By sharing my practice
through painting and creative acts I wish to cultivate an active and curious
engagement with the spirit of inspiration in the world at large.
The Groovy Apparition is Theo Callozzo and is inspired and informed by the general grooviness of dimensions 1 thru 6 – from the Folk weavings of the Navajo Indians to the drip drops of Contemporary Graffiti artists around the globe. Anybody channeling the holy ghost via delta blues, and gospel joy, to the folks dancing to deep house thump of Chicago disco may end up transfigured by the images coming through the pen and brush.
